“The Mighty Jarrah”
Renown around the world for its rich range of red colours and various uses for furniture, flooring & decor, Jarrah is also a highly revered tone-wood for drums & percussion. As a result of its dense, straight grain structure, this single piece of 11mm Jarrah ranges from a dark, deep, rich note up to a dry, throaty crack with a ring akin to a metal snare drum that will blow your ears off and send chills up your spine.

The log is rescued
Salvaged, never felled – recorded with its GPS coordinates before the first cut.
The wood learns patience
At least three years of natural air drying – sometimes far longer. Just time and patience.
The shell emerges whole
Hollowed from the very fibres of the tree – nothing between the tree and the tone.
